The foundations of ASJ are laid in uncompromising Uprightness – Truthfulness – Integrity with the focus on ensuring that every citizen of this country is seen, heard and fully represented.
A system of governance and an executive that pleads ignorance – of not being aware and remains unconcerned when it comes to alleviating the misery of the people due to man-made disasters, calamities and civil unrest is a system of governance we do not need. The entire blame is shifted to the lack of individual resilience – a word commonly misused by management gurus and bureaucrats to push bureaucratic inefficiencies to ‘the lack of resilience’ of the people.
Professionals committed to the welfare of the community regardless of the area of work – education, medicine, engineering or law ensure effective and accessible infrastructure services and facilities for all. However, an inequitable balance of government welfare schemes and funds left unutilised as is visible in our performance audits fails to raise any eye brows or questions.
Professionals forget that the nature of their work places them among the most respected leaders, innovators and motivators in their communities and to negotiate out of inconvenient situations is not expected of them.
In times of emergencies and civil strife concerned professionals cannot maintain a tactful silence regardless of its being detrimental to the betterment of the nation. A clear statement about their stand on issues of concern must be visible in the public domain for people to benefit from the guidelines they establish and not get carried away by the vacuous talk of politicians.
The inability to pay exorbitant professional charges for essential services like food, education, health and housing adversely affects the lives of the people in this world.
For the impoverished classes starting from their infancy, exorbitant costs bars them from basic food requirements which to this day plagues motherhood itself, healthservices, education and other needs, deprived and discriminated against, denied of their Rights and Entitlements.
We at Advocacy for Social Justice take a very serious viewof this indifference practiced to perfection backed-up with wilful misrepresentation of fact in the public domain.
